What do we mean when we say "creator?" ➡️ Dallas City of Learning aims to create creators, and we have a framework of skills that helps us define what that means.

We call it the Creator Archetype – skills we know young people need to be ready for the future. This helps us understand the types of learning experiences we should focus on providing to youth so they're equipped and empowered to design their best path forward.

What a way to end the summer! We had a blast at Turn Up! at @frontiersofflightmuseum – a huge thank you to the families who came out and to the partners who made the day so fun!

Meet our partner, @boldideainc! They help students

Meet our partner, @boldideainc! They help students discover computer science through hands-on learning and mentoring with industry professionals, building critical thinking skills and equipping students to succeed in the careers of the future.⁠

This summer, that work has focused on the ideaSpark Coding Camps, which combine hands-on learning in a computer programming language with support from mentors who work in a technology field to build a website or video game to share with family and friends! Tons of creativity involved 💻⁠

You can support the work they're doing by 1️⃣ becoming a mentor for the school year (if you're a professional in the tech field) or 2️⃣ making a monetary donation (this goes directly back to the students and allows Bold Idea to teach coding in schools and provide laptops to students who may not have easy access to computers during the program)⁠
