Upstander Institute: Understanding Bias

This week at Upstander Institute, students will study the complexity of bias. They will learn about three types of unconscious bias and how they effect our everyday decision making. Students will engage in interactive activities where they will be challenged to internally reflect and recognize their own biases, including a visual thinking strategy exploration with a Museum Educator. Students will then learn about how we can deconstruct bias within ourselves, and prevent it from turning into prejudice and hatred.
