This program will teach that Domestic violence is the willful intimidation, physical assault, battery, sexual assault, and/or other abusive behavior as part of a systematic pattern of power and control perpetrated by one partner against another. It includes physical violence, sexual violence, threats, and emotional abuse. How often and severe of domestic violence can very. Domestic violence can happen in any relationships, regardless of ethnic group, income level, religion or sexual orientation. Abuse may occur between married couples, or between unmarried people living together or in a dating relationship. Women are more likely than men to be a victim of domestic violence. This program is an open dialog for awareness not to initiate any family disruption. Participants will have an opportunity to visit shelters and have a dialog with survivors of Domestic Violence and their children.
