With the shelter-in-place order for Texas expired and the gradual opening of the City of Dallas and Dallas County, families now have important choices to make about how they want to manage childcare and summer programming for their children, and are navigating evolving guidelines.

Dallas City of Learning
Dallas City of Learning is a citywide initiative to ensure all students have access to high quality summer learning programs that stem summer learning loss.
SMU Center on Research and Evaluation
The Center on Research and Evaluation (CORE) conducts high-quality research and evaluation to drive positive and sustainable change in individuals, schools, and communities in a customized manner, as well as provides research support to the SMU faculty and staff.

Dallas Park & Recreation
The School Zone at the SMU Budd Center
The School Zone quickly became The Budd Center’s flagship effort. It has evolved into a collective impact partnership of 33 nonprofits and 15 public, private and charter schools (all of the schools in the Pinkston High School feeder pattern), leveraging their collective resources to ensure children in the community have the tools and support they need to leave high school ready for college or the workforce.
State Fair of Texas
The State Fair of Texas celebrates all things Texan by promoting agriculture, education, and community involvement through quality entertainment in a family-friendly environment.
Dallas Afterschool works to level the playing field for children of all races and economic backgrounds by informing community stakeholders, supporting afterschool and summer programs and their staff members, and coordinating community resources.
