DESCRIPTION:Volunteers Needed! \n826 Dallas Project provides Dallas high school seniors with free college essay help\, and we need volunteer support for our upcoming College Writing Workshop. Through group activities and one-on-one feedback\, volunteer mentors team up with students to write their way into their college essays\, helping students identify their strengths to let their stories shine. Training and all resources will be provided to volunteers. \nOur upcoming College Writing Workshop is on Thursday\, July 27 from 10:00-2:30pm at Irma Rangel Young Women’s Leadership Academy. A virtual Volunteer Orientation is planned for Tuesday\, July 25 from 7:00-8:00pm. The program is designed to support African American/Black\, Latino/a\, Native American or Asian/Pacific Islander heritage students seeking their first degree in designated zip codes in Massachusetts\, North Carolina\, or Texas (see below) who are enrolling in Fall 2023. Recipients must be attending a not-for-profit\, accredited\, 4-year\, 2-year college/university or certificate program in their home state and are between the ages of 16-24 at the time of selection. \n
