Reach One...Teach One Literacy Program

The Reach One Teach One Literacy Program offers literacy education, general tutoring services, study skills and homework assistance. Our literacy program help students with literacy skills: speaking, listening, reading, and writing that are needed to help them succeed in school. . Students in early elementary grades engage in speaking, listening and writing activities that help them build fundamental reading skills. Student in upper elementary grades learn how to solve math problems, conduct science projects and investigate social sciences. We use researched based activities that increase student motivation to learn in language-based subjects. Our curriculum are TEKS based using the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills as our curriculum model. Our tutoring program provide small group tutoring to students who need assistance in Reading, Writing and Math, and assist students with homework and study skills. Tutors provide each identified student with the individualized academic attention and assistance needed for academic success and in meeting the standardized testing (STARR) required by the state.
